Fabulous trip to Florida
We had a wonderful visit to Florida in March 2010, in large part due to Educators B & B hosts. Before we even left our home state we had received welcomes from each of our hosts via email and/or telephone. They provided us with valuable information on sights to see, routes to take, and even where to eat.
Our first host was in Bonita Beach, on the Gulf of Mexico. Her classic Florida home is a half-block from the beach, from which we watched a glorious sunset. Our quaint room looked out on a swamp--peaceful and private. We truly enjoyed our visit with her.
Our next gracious hosts were in Sarasota. Where else could travelers find hosts who will pick sweet grapefruit for our breakfast from the tree in their backyard, and cook special sausage, eggs, and toast. They kindly wanted to send us away with a breakfast to "last all morning".
Our last stop, near Tampa, was also a treat. Our host provided a tropical suite and an access key for a walk in an adjacent historic park with an Indian mound, right on Tampa Bay. She even generously taught me how to construct an art project when I admired one of hers. You don't get this, often with a glass of wine and a chance to breathe, in motels.
